This is a Demetrios style number 3151 gown with tags and extra beading still attached. I bought it at the Macy's NYC in Herald Square on 2/6/13 as a sample. The original price on the gown was $1,710. The tag is a size 10, but fits more like an 8. The back is corseted, so it is easily adjustable. I also have a modesty panel that can be added to the corset part of the dress so you can cover up the back.
The fit is very flattering due to the asymmetrical pleating throughout the torso. It has enough fullness as well due to the flared out bottom with 2 layers of crinoline. Along with the asymmetrical torso pleating, the horizontal pleating under the bust and the vertical pleating on the bust is very unique. I fell in love with that detailing and have not seen another dress replicate it as well.
I have not worn this dress except to try it on once in the store and once at home. It is a sample though, so other brides may have tried it on in the store.
The original sample price was $800 for the dress, but I was able to knock it down a little because I agreed to have my alterations done by their preferred seamstress and I was buying my bridesmaid dresses there.
Why I am selling: I became engaged February 2, 2013, and decided to have my wedding less than 6 months later so I needed a dress quickly. I bought this dress 4 days after my engagement and before I had my venue. I am selling this dress because I am having my wedding in a very large and ornate church and I have decided on another dress.
I have the receipts if you would like to see them as well with the original price, and price paid. There is a minor rip on the bottom of the dress, if you are hemming it at least an inch, it will not be an issue.
